Night painting: amsterdam 4

My friend Aaron who i met in amsterdam is holding the painting for me, so hard to take digital pics of painitings.
This painting was done in amsterdam also, this was my last night painting in amsterdam that took me 3 nights to finish because the purpleish pink light turns off at 11 and i kept missing it. I started it on my first night (i had 6 nights) and went back 3 times and only the last time did i make the right time. On the last ngiht when i finished an irish couple from switzerland loved it sooo much they bought it for my whooping street price of 70 euros. Was nice to see they liked it that much.

This painting and all the other night paitnings are done at the scene at the same time. Most of these were done in the winter so the coldness is a factor in quality. These all usually have a process involed where i use spray paint for the backround and pastel and acrylic for the lights and detail. the combination of these mediums i find work very well to depict the scenes. Most take about an hour. When i sell these paintings, i get the person to come with me to the scene and watch the painting, that way they have an acutal connection to the painting and see its birth. It also make it easier for me to sell the painting because then the painting would not exsist without the persons commision
